My Journey

The Odyssey was a very interesting book. We met many new characters such as Odysseus. Odysseus traveled to many different areas by boat. In those areas he fought many battles, the Clyclops being one. I did not really learn that much about this book. Although I did not learn much, The Odyssey taught me one valuable lesson. The lesson was to fight and stick up for what you love. In Odysseus's case that was he wife Penelope. This book was OK but no my favorite this year.

The next book I am going to talk about is my favorite we read all year. The book is Night by Elie Weisel. This book was very interesting to me and that made me want to read more. In the book, Elie had to go on a terrible journey as a Jew under Nazi control. I learned what it was truly like to be a Jew under the control of Hitler and the Nazis. The message of this book is no matter how tough things may be, things will get better. This book was a very good book and I am glad I got to read it this year.

Romeo and Juliet was again, not one of my favorites. Just how long it was was the main problem for me. I also did not like how Shakespeare told us the ending of the book before it even started. Romeo went through many journeys to get to his true love. I learned about Shakespeare and all the things he did during this time period. This message of this book is that some things are worth fighting for.  This is one book along with The Odyssey that I did not enjoy.

The final book we read was I am Malala. This book was also a very interesting, just like Night. This book Malala went on a long hard journey fighting for education. I learned about the taliban take over in Pakistan. Even with the takeover Malala remained focused on  her goal. This taught me the lesson is no matter how impossible the goal may be you can always make a difference.
